Email lists are the main way that the Kōtui & APNK team communicate information out to libraries; it also provides a platform for discussions to take place between libraries in the Kōtui and/or APNK networks.
There are a number of different email lists available for staff to subscribe to; some are designed for one-way communications from the team (e.g. the Notifications lists), while some are intended for discussion between libraries. Additionally, some of the lists are available for any library staff to sign up to, while others have access restricted to managers or specific specialist staff.
On this page staff can sign up to email lists. You will also find a list below with descriptions of each list.
We recommend that all library who are involved with the day-to-day use or support of APNK/Kōtui sign up to the Notifications email lists (there is one for each service).
There are also other special interest discussion groups for Kōtui staff, covering topics such as Cataloguing, Circulation and Analytics.
All library managers should be part of the manager lists. There is one for each of APNK and Kōtui, plus a third list that is for broadcasts sent out to both networks.
These lists are intended as a direct broadcast to managers specifically; from there, managers can choose to disseminate information to their staff as appropriate. That said, a second staff member (typically an assistant manager or equivalent role) for each library can also be nominated by the manager to join these lists. To do this, the manager should raise a Service Portal ticket with the nominated person’s name and email address, and the specific lists they are to be added to.
There are also email lists for sub-groups with a limited membership: the APNK Advisory Group, the Kōtui Board, and Kōtui staff who are Designated Contacts.
NOTE: Membership for some of these lists will require approval from the Kōtui & APNK team.
If a staff member is leaving or has left the library, enter their library email address below and click Submit to remove them from all the Kōtui and/or APNK email lists they were subscribed to.

We recommend that all library staff who are involved with the day-to-day support of APNK services be signed up to this list. This list is where updates will be shared regarding service outages, plus most other important changes affecting libraries, staff and the public.
(Alternatively, if you have a distribution list email address set up to go to all your library staff, consider signing up that address instead. That way, any additions or removals due to staffing changes can be managed by your library internally.)
